Trainings/Consulting

I also provide trainings and consulting to group practices, businesses and schools in regards to neuro-analytic principles underlying the psychological anatomies of individuals, groups, work cultures and/or educational concerns. Countless thoughts and feelings may be intrinsic to our daily lives, but they are not without their evaluative significance and informational charge in these contexts. Workshops often involve exposure to likely new ways of managing, interpreting and understanding the emotional states of people, staff or students. Accordingly, by thinking and feeling a bit more counterintuitively, attendees can dive deeper into realizing what gives rise and generates points of conflict, limits of potential, disorganization to levels of communication as well as absent bits to a specific knowledge base. Most trainings involve some (neuro)analytic theory, plain-English definitions and plenty of irreverence to animate the boring jargon in service of lively discussion, education and need.

Teaching

Similar to providing trainings and consultation, I have had the continued privilege to teach psychodynamic fundamentals as well as neuro-analytic foundations at the university, group practice and individual levels. Most frequently, I am teaching psychoanalytic character diagnosis, case formulation and personality typology in the context of neuro-analytic framing. Teaching also includes seminars, role-play and live supervision to ground much of the highfalutin theory in the treatment room. The practice of meaningful, developmental therapy is as much about tact as it is about theory. Skills can be taught simultaneously, providing experiential learning to awaken the material on the page.
